On the morning of March 28, 2023, a 29-year-old woman called Anchorage police at 10:36 a.m., telling dispatchers she intended to harm herself. Officers traced her to a parked car outside the Glenn Square shopping center on Mountain View Drive in Anchorage. Inside the vehicle with her was her 3-year-old son, a boy later memorialized publicly as Kai Vue, age 3, male.
