Robert Johnson, a 22-year-old white male grocery clerk from Anchorage, Alaska, was found beaten to death in Earthquake Park in 1973. Contemporary accounts and later retrospectives identify the attack as a brutal beating that ended the life of the 22-year-old man in the wooded expanse just west of the city, a place where the bluff falls away toward Cook Inlet and trails wind through the trees.
