In the early hours of March 28, 2024, Anchorage Police responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex on the 2800 block of West 31st Avenue in the Turnagain neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Samuel Biel lying in the parking lot with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
