On March 17, 2024, at approximately 4:06 p.m., Mobile Police Department officers responded to a shooting incident at Bel Air Apartments, located at 505 Bel Air Boulevard in Mobile, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 24-year-old Aeron Lao deceased from a gunshot wound. The investigation revealed that Lao and 25-year-old Alec Tran, who were acquainted, had engaged in an argument prior to the shooting. Tran was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
