On the morning of March 18, 2024, Montgomery police and fire medics responded to a call regarding a deceased individual in the 5100 block of Carmichael Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 20-year-old African American female, Alexia Shepherd, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted by the Alabama Department of Forensic Science confirmed that she died from a fatal gunshot wound.
