On March 18, 2024, at approximately 8:48 a.m., Montgomery police and fire medics responded to a call in the 5100 block of Carmichael Road regarding a deceased individual. Upon arrival, they discovered 20-year-old Montgomery resident Alexia Shepherd with fatal injuries and pronounced her dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted by the Alabama Department of Forensic Science later confirmed that Shepherd had died from a gunshot wound.
