On September 7, 2019, 19-year-old Alexis Moss, a sophomore at Alabama State University, was fatally shot during an off-campus incident in Montgomery, Alabama. The shooting occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Spruce Street, where a large group had gathered for a party. An altercation broke out among attendees, leading to gunfire. Moss, an innocent bystander, was struck by a stray bullet and succumbed to her injuries two days later.
