In the early evening of Friday, September 26, 2025, a sense of routine was shattered in a Montgomery, Alabama neighborhood. Jasmine Chillous, a 34-year-old Black woman, found her life tragically cut short in an act of violence. As the evening commute moved along the nearby I-85/I-65 interchange, police were called to the 500 block of Stone Street at approximately 6:51 p.m. There, they discovered Chillous suffering from a fatal gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
