On a summer evening in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 25-year-old Lamarcus McCall, an African American male, was cut short by gunfire. The fatal shooting occurred on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in the Carriage Hills neighborhood. At approximately 8:03 p.m., Montgomery police and fire medics were dispatched to the 2500 block of Bridle Path Lane after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered McCall with a fatal gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident was the second homicide to rock the Carriage Hills neighborhood that day. Earlier, around 12:35 a.m., another fatal shooting had taken place in the 3200 block of Covered Bridge Road, which resulted in the death of 20-year-old Kavone Mosquera and left another individual wounded. While an arrest was made in connection with Mosquera's death, the case of Lamarcus McCall remains unsolved.
The Montgomery Police Department is actively investigating McCall's death as a homicide. To date, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the case.
