On the night of July 8, 2022, at approximately 11:31 p.m., Montgomery Police officers responded to a shooting in the 4400 block of Troy Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered 55-year-old James Cobb of Montgomery deceased from a gunshot wound. A woman at the scene also suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
