On a Thursday night in the Washington Highlands neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C., a young man's life was cut short by gunfire. Twenty-five-year-old Rashawn Lewis Wright was discovered by police with gunshot wounds on June 9, 2016. The shooting took place at approximately 10:26 p.m. in the 900 block of Varney Street, SE.
