In a tragic turn of events on the night of February 3, 2014, Ernest Earl Jasper, a 46-year-old male resident of Franklin, Indiana, was fatally shot. The incident unfolded when Mr. Jasper, a man known for his willingness to help others, responded to a neighbor's plea for assistance during a violent domestic dispute. His neighbor's ex-boyfriend, 21-year-old Andrew J. Parish, had arrived at the home armed with a handgun and an AK-47.
