On August 3, 2016, Robert Lee Vinson, a 20-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was shot and killed in the early hours of the morning. Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of V Street, SE, at approximately 2:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found Vinson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
