In June 2015, 22-year-old Michael DeGroote, a senior tight end and fullback for Northern Arizona University's football team, tragically lost his life while vacationing with his family in Alaska. On June 30, he was found deceased at a campground in Denali National Park and Preserve, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
