On August 7, 2022, in Fairbanks, Alaska, 18-year-old Rachel Elizabeth Wright and 28-year-old Ricardo James Duperior were fatally shot in an apartment located in the Birchwood Homes neighborhood on the city's east side. The Fairbanks Police Department responded to the incident shortly before 2:30 a.m. and initiated a double homicide investigation.
