Crystal Shannon McDonald was a 35-year-old Alaska Native woman from Fairbanks, Alaska, whose life ended on March 20, 2014. She was a wife and mother of three, remembered by friends and family for a bright, giving spirit—she knitted hats and scarves for children at Denali Elementary to help keep them warm through Fairbanks winters.
