Crystal Shannon McDonald was a 35-year-old Alaska Native woman from Fairbanks, Alaska, whose life ended on March 20, 2014. She was a wife and mother of three, remembered by friends and family for a bright, giving spirit—she knitted hats and scarves for children at Denali Elementary to help keep them warm through Fairbanks winters. In the days after her death, loved ones gathered for services in Fairbanks to honor her life and care for her children.
