On September 24, 2024, at approximately 5 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot at the Big Boy Convenience Store, located at 2714 Pearson Avenue Southwest. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Malike Williams lying unresponsive outside the store, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced Williams deceased at the scene.
