On November 9, 2020, 18-year-old African American male Ja'Mari Demetrius Harris was fatally shot in the parking lot of Park Brook Apartments in Birmingham, Alabama. Responding officers discovered Harris suffering from a gunshot wound; he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Ja'Mari Harris was a recent graduate of Clay-Chalkville High School and was employed at the time of his death. He was remembered by family and friends as a young man with a promising future.
