On September 13, 2024, at approximately 12:05 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot in the Collegeville Housing Community, located in the 3000 block of 32nd Avenue North. Upon arrival, they found 33-year-old Chuck Jermaine Wallace lying near a sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel transported Wallace to UAB Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries en route.
