On October 14, 2019, Charles L. Brown, a 44-year-old African American man from Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally shot following an altercation at a Burger King located on Third Avenue West and Princeton Parkway. The incident began as a dispute inside the restaurant and escalated into gunfire.
