Police Officer Azell L. Harris, a 42-year-old member of the Birmingham Police Department in Alabama, was fatally shot on May 4, 1969. At the time of the incident, Officer Harris was moonlighting at a local freight line warehouse located at 4th Avenue and 3rd Street North in Birmingham.
