On March 8, 2020, 24-year-old Daniel Leroy Jackson Jr. was found deceased in the yard of a residence at 1712 Maple Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. Officers from the West Precinct responded to a call at approximately 7:17 p.m. reporting a person down. Upon arrival, they discovered Jackson unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue, along with the Jefferson County Coroner, pronounced him dead at the scene.
