On August 30, 2024, 41-year-old Alfredo Rodriguez Ruiz was shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of 41st Place North in the Inglenook neighborhood. After being shot, Ruiz managed to walk approximately two blocks, collapsing on a porch while seeking help. He was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries and succumbed to those injuries on September 5, 2024.
