On April 13, 2020, 23-year-old Cordai Deonte Molette was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 4:36 p.m. in the 200 block of 48th Street North. Officers from the South Precinct responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple rounds fired in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered Molette unresponsive inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
