On December 31, 2021, at approximately 2:51 a.m., 25-year-old Morgan Lightner was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 59 North near Arkadelphia Road in Birmingham, Alabama. The collision caused her Hyundai Sonata to overturn and land on its roof. After extricating herself from the vehicle, Lightner attempted to warn oncoming traffic by signaling drivers to slow down.
