On January 25, 2019, 33-year-old JaGorren Jimmie Kelly was fatally shot during a violent altercation at the GM Lounge, located at 3813 Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard North in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:55 a.m. as a large crowd was exiting the nightclub. Multiple shooters began firing at each other, resulting in Kelly being struck by gunfire. He was transported to UAB Hospital by private vehicle, where he succumbed to his injuries.
