On April 1, 2014, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Birmingham Police officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of 32nd Place North in the Norwood Bottoms community. Upon arrival, they discovered 27-year-old James Redmon suffering from a gunshot wound. Redmon was pronounced dead at the scene.
