On August 22, 2016, 20-year-old Chancey Harper Jr. was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred in the parking lot behind an AutoZone store located at 1121 Huffman Road in the Spring Lake area. The shooting took place shortly after the school day ended at nearby Huffman High School, resulting in a crowded scene. Harper, though not a student, was present in the area at the time.
