In the heart of a Birmingham winter, the life of Corey Durrell Walker, a 28-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight on January 14, 2016, Walker was discovered in a vehicle on the 500 block of 16th Way Southwest, having been fatally shot. When authorities arrived, he was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a grieving family, including his six children.
