Inside a black Dodge Challenger, 23-year-old Raul Angel Cajigas, a Hispanic male from Hoover, was found unresponsive. He had sustained a gunshot wound, and despite the efforts of Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Birmingham Police Department's West Precinct
officers were the first to arrive, drawn to the scene by reports of a person shot. Their investigation quickly determined that some form of altercation had taken place prior to the fatal shooting.
