Death by Force

On August 24, 2024, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Birmingham Police Department's West Precinct officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple gunshots near the Exxon gas station in the 1100 block of 3rd Avenue West. Upon arrival, they discovered 34-year-old Rodrigo Renteria Bravo lying unresponsive in the gas station's parking lot, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
