On the evening of August 21, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of 30th Street Southwest, located in the Germania Park community. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Kayla Alexandria Warren suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to UAB Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly before 11:00 p.m.
