On June 19, 2021, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Birmingham Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at Hatcher's Auto Transmission Center, located at 543 Tuscaloosa Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Josiah Bryant lying unresponsive inside the business, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
