On April 15, 2021, 83-year-old George M. Pody of Birmingham, Alabama, was involved in a head-on collision on Forestdale Boulevard between Haven Drive and Lanewood Drive. A Chevrolet Silverado crossed the centerline, colliding with the Volkswagen Atlas driven by Pody. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on May 9, 2021.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office investigated the incident, leading to the arrest of George Franklin Holcombe. Holcombe was charged ...Read More
