In the early morning hours of October 14, 2024, the body of 40-year-old Jonathan O'Neal Foster, a Black / African American male, was discovered lying in the median of Highway 78 near the Argo Hill area. Initially, the circumstances of his death suggested a tragic hit-and-run accident, and the Alabama State Troopers began their investigation under that assumption. Foster was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
