On October 28, 2023, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 600 block of 13th Street Ensley. Upon arrival, they discovered 65-year-old Rodger Davis, a resident of Fairfield, Alabama, unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
