Curtis Alvis Ware, a 66-year-old Black man from Birmingham, Alabama, was killed on September 22, 2022, in the city’s Inglenook community. That morning, around 8:46 a.m., Birmingham dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a person down in the 4100 block of 43rd Avenue North. When East Precinct officers arrived, they found Ware suffering from a gunshot wound.
