On November 19, 2022, at approximately 9:56 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a shooting at the Don L. West Manor Apartments, located at 204 59th Street South. Upon arrival, they discovered 27-year-old Zevin Lenard Patterson suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
