On June 25, 2022, at approximately 7:05 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 7500 block of 67th Courtway South. Upon arrival, they discovered 18-year-old Jaylan Bloxom lying unresponsive in a courtyard, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Bloxom was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
