On October 2, 2018, 44-year-old Jerry Kennedy was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the 3100 block of Jefferson Avenue Southwest, where officers found Kennedy inside a vehicle. He was transported to UAB Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
