On August 2, 2007, 44-year-old Clyde T. Patrick of Birmingham, Alabama, was involved in a series of distressing events that led to his untimely death. That day, Birmingham police officers responded to a call reporting a black male, later identified as Patrick, who had entered a vehicle belonging to Takela Gaines.
