On July 31, 2022, at approximately 6:34 p.m., Childersburg Police officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the Sadie Lee Homes housing community on 16th Avenue NW. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 33-year-old Johnny Lee Marbury, was transported by LifeSaver to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
