On January 6, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., 55-year-old Jimmy Wade Rich of Riverside, Alabama, was involved in a fatal car accident on Cogswell Avenue in Pell City. According to the Pell City Police Department, another vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with Rich's SUV. Rich was transported to St. Vincent's St. Clair Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
