On August 9, 2022, in Hueytown, Alabama, authorities responded to reports of a shooting incident around 9 a.m. Upon arrival at a residence on Hueytown Road, officers discovered 49-year-old Robert Adaryll Stout deceased in the yard from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Shortly thereafter, they found 33-year-old Erin Michelle Stout, Robert's wife, dead from a gunshot wound at a different location.
