On January 17, 2025, Jeshaun Chambers, a 24-year-old Black male from Fairfield, Alabama, was fatally shot in Birmingham. The incident occurred in the 600 Block of 26th Street Southwest at approximately 7:13 p.m. when West Precinct officers responded to two ShotSpotter notifications registering approximately thirty-six rounds of gunfire.
