On June 3, 2022, 35-year-old Andres James Taylor Johnson was fatally shot in the parking lot of The Seafood King restaurant on State Farm Parkway in Homewood, Alabama. The incident occurred around 11:53 a.m. during an altercation between Johnson and 39-year-old Jerry Jewayne Jones, both residents of Birmingham. Johnson sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
