On June 2, 2021, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Homewood Police responded to a call at the La Quinta Inn on State Farm Parkway in Homewood, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers discovered 47-year-old Patrick Lane Jones of Adamsville unresponsive in a hotel room, having sustained a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
