On April 23, 2021, 33-year-old Anthony David Decola of Adamsville, Alabama, was fatally shot at the Motel 6 located on Vulcan Road in Homewood. The incident occurred around 12:48 p.m., and Decola was pronounced dead at 1:04 p.m. The Homewood Police Department responded promptly to the scene.
