On August 28, 2022, 33-year-old Cynthia Anabel "Cindy" Cardenas was found fatally shot in her vehicle outside her home in Bessemer, Alabama. At approximately 5:51 a.m., Bessemer police officers responded to reports of a possible stabbing in the 3300 block of Avenue C. Upon arrival, they discovered Cardenas seated in her car, which was still running, suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
