Kimberly Ellen Phillips Vaughn, a 34-year-old Caucasian woman, was found dead on June 14, 2007, in Channahon Township, Illinois. She was discovered in the family’s red Ford Expedition along with her three children: Abigayle Elizabeth, 12, Cassandra Ellen, 11, and Blake Philip, 8. The bodies were found on a service road near Interstate 55. Kimberly and her children had been shot to death, and a handgun was found at the scene.
