Abigayle Elizabeth Vaughn, a 12-year-old girl from Channahon Township, Illinois, tragically lost her life on June 14, 2007. Abigayle, often called "Abbi," was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and cousin. She was a gifted artist, a soccer enthusiast, and a student at Thompson Middle School in Oswego, Illinois.

On that fateful day, Abigayle, along with her mother Kimberly Vaughn, 34, and her siblings Cassandra, 11, and Blake, 8, were found shot to death in their family vehicle. Each child had been shot twice, while Kimberly had been shot once. The family was discovered in a remote area near Channahon, Illinois, with the only survivor being Christopher Vaughn, Abigayle's father, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh.
